In a vibrant display of culture, unity, and appreciation, a Water Festival was held for migrant domestic workers (MDWs) from Myanmar and India, bringing together participants for a joyful celebration of tradition and community.

The event is part of a larger initiative specially funded by Bank of America, whose generous support has made it possible to organize meaningful activities for MDWs throughout the year. Their commitment to empowering underserved communities continues to have a deep and lasting impact.

The highlight of the day was the traditional water splashing — a ritual symbolizing cleansing, renewal, and fresh beginnings. Participants also enjoyed cultural performances, colorful traditional attire, upbeat music, and delicious food, creating a truly festive atmosphere.

Volunteers from Bank of America also joined in the celebration, helping to run activities and connect with the participants. Their presence brought an added spirit of warmth and solidarity, reflecting the bank’s dedication to giving back through active community involvement.

Above all, the event offered MDWs a chance to relax, have fun, and feel appreciated for their invaluable contributions to our society — a small gesture that goes a long way in recognizing their hard work and sacrifices.
