Adj. A/Prof Angie Chew is the visionary Founder and CEO of Brahm Centre, a leading mental health charity with a dedicated team of over 50 staff committed to fostering happier and healthier lives. Her contributions to mental health advocacy earned her the prestigious title of “The Straits Times Singaporean of the Year 2019”. 

As Singapore’s first certified Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) teacher, trained by the Mindfulness Centre at Brown University School of Public Health, and an Oxford Mindfulness Centre-certified Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) teacher, further underscores her expertise in evidence-based mental health interventions.

A/Prof Angie has made significant contributions in mental wellness across the corporate, government, education, and public healthcare sectors with mindfulness applications. She serves as an Adjunct Associate Professor at the National University of Singapore, where she teaches the mindfulness-based “Undefeated Mind” Course, equipping students with essential skills for resilience and mental well-being. She has also been appointed as an advisor to Monash Centre for Consciousness and Contemplative Studies from January 2025.

With more than 15,000 individuals benefitting from her mindfulness workshops and courses, Angie is a pivotal figure in the mental wellness movement. Her leadership in organizing the Singapore Mindfulness Conferences and the Asia Pacific Mindfulness Conferences, which collectively attracted over 5,000 delegates, has further cemented her legacy as a driving force in mental health and mindfulness advocacy.
