The Science and Art of Happiness
The Science and Art of Happiness retreat ended today with a roomful of sharings that they are now convinced by the scientific evidence of the positive effects mindfulness has on cognition, relationship with pain and the brain 🧠presented by Harvard’s leading neuroscientist, Dr Sara Lazar.
The evidence motivated everyone in the retreat to do the mindfulness practices diligently and live a mindful life.
Adj. A/Prof Angie Chew taught the art of happiness that involved learning about how fear can result in irrational or unkind behaviour, how judgmental thoughts affect our experiences and how developing positive foundational attitudes can uplift our life.
“Mindfulness has helped bring down my blood pressure”
“Mindfulness has enabled me to improve my relationships with my children”
“Mindfulness has made me more effective at work”
“Mindfulness has helped me cope with the cancer diagnosis and the treatment journey”.
The above are some of the testimonials.
The next retreat will be in November 2024 featuring guest teacher Dr David Treleaven, a trauma specialist. Stay tune!
